Insurance, Fees & Payment
For patients who have health insurance, the good news is we accept most insurance plans, either as an in-network or out-of-network provider. Not all insurance plans have acupuncture coverage, although many do in our great DC area. We are currently participated as an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and ASH.
It is very important to find out if you have the coverage or not and what your plan covers in details. The details include 1) the individual patient's annual deductible, co-pay or co-insurance per visit; 2) what conditions are covered; 3) how many sessions are allowed per year; 4) if a referral form is required. Okay how to find it out? The patient can call the insurance company member service directly and ask if he or she has the acupuncture coverage. Or the patient can contact our office with their insurance info and we will find it out for you. Most of our patients chose to let us call to save time and confusion, and we are happy to help on this.
We also offer TOS (Time of Service) discounts to the general public. Those who do not have health insurance or acupuncture coverage can greatly benefit from this program. For the initial appointment, which takes one hour and a half, it costs $100; for the follow-up appointments, it is $80.
For those patients who also need herbal prescriptions in addition to the needle treatments, Dr. Tang will prescribe and prepare the herbs during your visit but the herbs are charged separately. The price will vary depending on the individual prescription, but very reasonable.
We accept both check and cash. For more questions, please call our office at (703) 596-9188
